The Difference Between Winter and Summer Blades

During the winter months, you may contend with ice, snow and other debris that you won't see as much in Reading during the summer. Therefore, it makes sense to have winter wiper blades installed on your car to deal with the intense weather conditions. You can have them installed by Savage Kia or do so yourself.

Ideally, winter blades will be put on your vehicle at the same time winter tires are put on it. When you take your winter tires off, the winter blades can come off in favor of the summer version. The main difference between summer and winter blades is that summer blades tend to be lighter and use natural rubber.

Winter blades are heavier and thicker to get rid of snow and ice without breaking down. The winter blade's frame is also heavier to help it deal with the extra weight it must withstand.
