What are Recalls?

With any vehicle, there are certain parts that are tricky for manufacturers to create. In fact, sometimes the designers get it so wrong that a defect occurs. These defects may lead to mass recalls of vehicles or certain parts, in which case owners are notified. Sometimes owners are notified by mail or phone call, others won't find out about it unless it's on the news. The issue with recalls is that the manufacturer must issue the recall first to denote that there is an issue. Once that happens, the discovery of safety issues or product defects can make it impossible to drive your car.

When you get a recall, you should talk to the manufacturer immediately. There are typically very short windows in which you can get a refund or replacement for your vehicle. If it's a part that is causing issues, you may have to wait for your vehicle to be fixed before you can drive it again.
